The Liberators – The Liberators

The Liberators debut self-titled album is packed full of funk goodness. At a time when ‘complete’ albums are perhaps harder to come by, this effort offers up a full length serving of afro inspired funk that will have you moving.

This album sees the Sydney-based 10-piece outfit ably supported by the likes of Jojo Kuo, Afro Moses and the lovely Roxie Ray. The lead track ‘Multiculture’ kicks the record off nicely as one hell of a funk stormer, and it’s full steam ahead from there.

Now, I have chosen the video for ‘Rags To Riches’ here because of the rather humourous Blaxploitation spoof going on [the actual song starts about 2:30 in]:
