US label, 4 Men With Beards, has re-issued Milton Nascimento’s Brazilian classic from ’72, Clube Da Esquina.
Avid followers of Brazilian sounds will instantly recognise the lead song ‘Tudo Que Voce Podia Ser’ (that was so magnificently covered by Quarteto Em Cy, amongst others).
Now I don’t really play football, and I don’t live in Brazil – but if I did both, you could be assured I would be booming ‘Cravo e Canela’ out of a sound system by the side of the field:
